I bought a '45 B about a year ago and am about 66% finished with the "renew".

Are there any other B owners here I can get advice, tips, and knowledge from?

I have a '46 B that was pretty much restored when I bought it, so there hasn't been much to do on it. What kinds of questions do you have?

I just bought a B this summer. I really got a sweet deal on it because the seller thought it was cool that a woman would want it. I have an O.E.M. catalog, but does anyone know of other sources to buy parts? I need a new manifold and muffler (I know I can get the muffler at TSC). I will also need new brakes in the very near future too.

Try ebay. I have a '45 B and have restored it. I found some good parts at a decent price there. I am working on a '51 Super C currently that was originally purchased by my Great-Grandfather. Does anyone have any clues where I can find a set of fenders? Also, this tractor was one of the tractors that was originally painted white. Does anyone know the color code for the white paint, or should I paint it red?

The only paint code listed in Yesterday's Tractors is for Off-white, and I'll bet that wasn't what was used on those white demonstrators. They're special and not very common. If I had one I'd paint it white during restoration.

I have bought most of the parts I needed from my local Case/IH dealer, Napa, OEM, JP Tractor Salvage, and Ebay. You can buy a repro manifold from OEM or JP Tractor Salvage may have a good, used one. Ther number is (573)-783-7055.

Here is what I know about white demos. To celebrate the mid-century mark in 1950, IH decided to paint three of their tractors white and send them to delaers for demonstration purposes. The three tractors were the Farmall Cub, Farmall Super A, and Farmall C. The Farmall Super C was not built until 1951, which excludes it from being a demonsrtator.

We have a 47 B. In the summer of 2003, we went to the coast to go deep sea fishing. When we got home, the tractor was in our yard, having been given to us and delivered (from 150 miles away) while we were out of town.

Several weeks ago the same fellow that gave us the tractor came to town and we tore down the engine. It had a stuck cylinder. The guys got the cylinder unstuck and the fellow took the block back home with him to rebuild. We're anticipating getting the engine back in the next few weeks and getting the tractor back running again.
