I have a Farmall Super C that my great-grandfather purchased new. It was originally painted white. Should I restore it white or red? Does anyone know the color code for the white? Does anyone know where I can find a set of fenders?

Original demos were painted Whitecap White. 901 white is fairly close

Thanks for the info on the color Bigdog! Should I go with the white, or paint it red?

Mark - the old saying is "It's your tractor - paint it any way you want!" However, if I had a demonstrator and was restoring it, I'd paint it white.
The original intent from IH was for dealers to re-paint the tractors red before selling them. And, many were re-painted. But I think that the white paint is part of the history of the tractor and it is indeed the way it came from the factory. So I vote for white. They are a little unusual and that white paint sure draws attention at the shows.

Bigdog, I'm not really familiar with the "C" tractor line. This was my great-granddads tractor, and I learned today from my uncle that he added on the "fast hitch" in '53 or '54. It got me to wondering when you said they only made demonstrators in '50. I noticed that the only iron that didn't have white paint showing through the red was the parts associated with the "fast hitch". I have the original drawbar hitch parts for the tractor, should I remove the fast hitch for restoration purity, or leave it on and paint the associated parts red? Are there any pictures of auctual demonstrators out there so that I can see what is white and what is red?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anything that was added to the tractor after painting such as the wheel centers and headlights would be red. Also hitch parts. As far as removing the fast hitch for originality, I think they're just too darn handy to do that and it would have been original for a tractor of that period so I'd leave it on.

I am new to this but I also bought a super C I thought. When I washed it the white showed through. I got to checking the serial # and found out I had a 1950 C tractor. I also found out the Demo is worth about 4 times as much as I give for the super C.My serial # is 52548. All casting #s match. I have a friend that is also IHC collector that is trying to get all Demo ser. #s . I am also looking for fenders. Bigdog is rite leave I would leave the fast hitch.
