My old cub was running before I shut it off three years ago. I've retired since then and would like to fix it up. No paint left, a few sparks from original wiring but it did run a little smoke. Well maybe more than a little smoke. I messed up the front steering assembly trying to move it by myself with my other tractor. First problem is I can't disasemble the front end parts. Appears to me the bolts are broke off inside the arm that would allow you to remove the front end steering assembly. My first post. Just found this tonight. memory may be foggy, will take a look at it in the morning. Not sure where to start with the old girl. She was built the year I was born. Also bought a farmall B culti-vision this summer runs and looks good. Not sure why I bought it. Other than I've had an A and a C. Wish I had them back. thanks

I am not clear on just what part of your steering you are trying to dis-assemble. Are you trying to remove the steering knuckles (vertical shafts at the end of the axle) or are you trying to remove the front axle itself? Or something else?

Welcome to the forum!

As to where to start? Well first I would suggest that you spend a little time and read these these items:

New Members and Visitors, Please READ
Cub FAQ's
Best of H.L. Chauvin

Then I would suggest perusing the Cub Manual Server. You will find the Owner's Manual, Service Manuals, Maintenance Tips and Techniques and all kinds of information on basically restoring, repairing or just maintaining your Cub.

These pages should help you a lot.

Also there are a number of forums available to you of which this forum is becoming a big part. Here are the urls:

Farmall Cub.com Forum
and
ATIS Cub Forum

You will find that Big Dog and all the other denizens of these forums and avid Cub-a-holics will be of immense help to you as they carry voluminous amounts of knowledge in there craniums biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Hope this helps some.

I would also take out the plugs and pour alittle ATF in them. Will help free up any stuck valves and piston rings.
