Just purchased my country place which came with a Farmall A in the barn. Operator's Manual calls for using Cream Separator Oil or other such light oil in the distributor bearing oil cup. Is that something special or is there some common alternative available?
Important Announcement!
We recently suffered from a hard drive failure and the back up of the forum was bad so we searched for a good back up and the only one we found was from 2006. We lost 3 years of members and posts but we are going to continue to rebuild the forum. We now have a new back up solution in place so by all means signup.

If my memory serves me correctly cream seperator oil was a light grade mineral oil. What you want is a single weight oil like a 10 or 20, not a 10w30. It should be a none detergent oil. Possibly an air compressor oil. Maybe even 3 in 1 oil. Basically what you are doing is soaking a wick which then slowly soaks in over time.
