Important Announcement!
We recently suffered from a hard drive failure and the back up of the forum was bad so we searched for a good back up and the only one we found was from 2006. We lost 3 years of members and posts but we are going to continue to rebuild the forum. We now have a new back up solution in place so by all means signup.

Hi there, I'm a new member who is proceeding to bring a Farmall H back to life. Serial # is FBH-42912, which I make out to be 1940 model. Some of its features suprise me, such as electric start, so I am wondering if I am correct in aging the machine. Is there somewhere where they state the year of improvements made over the years by IHC to the model H? Just wondering, doesn't really affect the tractor I guess. My boss's wife bought the tractor (unrunning) at an auction sale for $200.00 because she liked the basic shape of it, and was going to paint it and drag it into her flower garden. I said it would be easier to move it if it ran, and the boss agreed. They had to skid it off the trl when it was brought home, it was cold and something was froze up. Also it had a primitive loader on it that made moving it a pita. That was over a year ago, we have since drained the water out of the rear end, etc. and removed the loader. It's now on a trl, in a whse where I can work on it in comfort! -28' C out there today. I'll try to post updates as I go along and would appreciate any helpfull info along the way. Thanks, Ron
