I have a Super A which has sat for five years. I am trying to get her started again. Everything is moving ok-nothing seized. Drained gas tank, sediment bowl and carb and put new gas in. Changed oil and put new battery in. It turns over fine, getting gas but no spark. I'm no mechanic but understand the basics. I'm thinking I should replace points, plugs, wires, etc. but would appreciate some advice as how to go about troubleshooting for no spark. Also, before it was parked five yrs. ago I seem to remember that the kill switch did not shut the tractor down-I had to choke it to stop it. Do the kill swithces go bad and cause no spark? Any help to get me in the right direction would be appreciated. Also any advice as to where to purchase parts would be great. Thanks! The Old Crow

Old crow : I have a 1953 Farmall Super A had very simular problems and finally found that the wire inside the Magneto from the points to the cut off switch, INSIDE THE MAG, was touching the metal and grounding out the points, so it was like the cut off switch was allways on. You can check out my video of the problem on my You Tube Channel
