Jumpstart 8volt

I have a Farmall A with an 8volt battery. I do not operate it enough to keep the battery charged. Even after running it for an hour, the battery only has enough to turn it a few times then dies. I can't find an 8volt trickle charger. I've been able to start it by having the wife pull me with her SUV but that isn't a good solution when I get out in the field. I bought a small portable jumpstarter battery pack but it's 12volt. Can I use that? Any good solutions out there?

Well, after 800 people viewed my question with no replies, I disconnected the generator, put an older 12volt battery in it that I periodically keep charged with the trickle charger. She spins fast and fires right up.

yeah,you have the right idea,just make sure everything but the starter is disconnected

does it have a mag or distributor,if it's a mag you have nothing to worry about,they create there own electricity and the battery does not affect it.
if you have a distributor you will need to change the points and condenser and coil,and they do make 12 volt conversions for the generator,
one other thing the battery will seem under charged if your battery cables are too small,auto cables are too small and wont carry enough current
you need at least 00 battery cables for 6 and 8 volt batterys. hope this helps
