I still have one post waiting to be approved, or I would just post this as a reply. I sorted out most of the controls, checked oil levels etc. I managed to get the tractor started (a 1950 Farmall h). Now it idles fine, but if I go past about half throttle it just dies. What could be wrong? The tractor was running fine when it was parked about 5 years ago, and was started a recently as 2 months ago. I don't imagine that the carburetor is out of adjustment, so something has to be clogged. I am running seafoam, and new gas, so this could work itself out. Am I missing something? Would pulling the main fuel adjusting needle and running some wire through the hole to clean the orifice be OK?

you will have to remove the carb and clean it very good, this gas with the ethanol creates water in the carb and needs to have ethanol treatment added or drain the carb every so often .the sea foam is a great product but it wont clear out the hard residue in the carb
hope this helps
