We had a black production F-20 we used on our IL farm until way after WWII. Any information as to black paint...why?...How many?...What serial #'s etc would be appreciated. (The menu today only gives me a link to Cub manuals!)

The F-20 was produced in very large numbers from 1932 - 1939.
Most of the original F-20's were gray as the red paint wasn't used by the factory until 1936. The first F-20 was built on January 5, 1932, serial # FA501.
F-20 & F-20 Fairway Serial Numbers are:
1932 - 501 - 3000
1933 - 3001 - 6381
1934 - TA135000 - 135661
1935 - 6381 - 32715
1936 - 32716 - 68748
1937 - 68749 - 105596
1938 - 105597 - 130864
1939 - 130865 - 134699
1939 - 135700 - 148810

There was also a F-20 Cane & F-20 Narrow Tread (NT), serial numbers n/a.
